Why Movi?

Movi is an iOS app born from frustration with traditional movie rating systems. I got tired of rating everything out of 5 stars on Letterboxd. It felt arbitrary and didn't capture how I really felt about movies. How do you decide if something is a 3.5 or a 4? The difference between those half-stars never made sense to me.

Instead, Movi lets you rank movies by comparison. When you add a new movie, you simply compare it to ones you've already ranked. "Do I like this more or less than The Dark Knight?" That's a question you can actually answer. Our algorithm automatically calculates ratings based on your choices, building your perfect ranking list without you ever having to assign a number.

But Movi isn't just about ranking, it's about engaging with friends and discussing your ratings. See what your friends are watching, discover new films through their rankings, and have real conversations about why you loved or hated something. The social aspect makes movie discovery personal and meaningful, turning your ranking into a shared experience rather than a solo activity.
