The Wind Rises

“The wind is rising! We must try to live.” A more in depth review than last time. Main things that I think deserve to be pointed out:
- A very good beginning/mc introduction: In the very beginning we are shown what Jirou's dream is (literally), and how ambitious he is, but also what hinders him: his eyesight. 
- When it comes to WWII I didn’t really think about the planes they used, I really thought they had already made the designs and everything. It never occurred to me that they had such difficulty designing a metal plane that flew with guns.
- the sound cutting out when she gets on the train will never fail to hit me right in the heart. I will always be a sucker for a lover having an intuition about when something is wrong. Also I think Jirou might be one of my favorite main characters. There is nothing that I don’t like about him. He’s passionate, levelheaded, loyal, selfless, a daydreamer, and he admires everything, it’s like he can find beauty in anything.

This was the first movie where I actually wanted to take notes just so I could list all of the things I liked about it in my review. It was a gorgeous movie (no surprise), I loved Jiro, the love story was beautiful, and I’m not usually one for biographical types but I really enjoyed watching Jiro’s story. The only thing was that I was a bit confused in the beginning because I never knew when it would time skip.
