goldenbrown5.8August 13, 2026I forgot how awful this film was. No choice makes any sense and no one can sing in this. There is no opera at this opera house, and they cut crucial scenes for what??? And songs?? The set and costumes CARRY this movie, and the score is changed to sound clunky and bad. Overture (Phantom of the Opera) is the only song that sounds decent and it’s tanked by the shitty singing. Still, CAMP and one of my favorite stories. It needs a GDT remake asap. The director was trying some wild stuff in this movie, making for some interesting (not all good) shots. This is the only story that makes me really dislike Christine and honestly the Phantom has always been one of my favorite characters and this does him no justice.
