barackobama7.6July 27, 2026Work has finally loosened a little bit from the hellscape that it was the last 2 months. I still have 80 movies left on my watchlist (and my goal is to finish them in 2026). Doing a surge to meet my deadline (ironic I guess). Chalamet makes this movie not cringe, he did such a great job. The actors in this movie don’t really look the part — requiem for a dream felt a lot more believable. I guess that is what they’re trying to convey, that addiction can happen to anyone. But you know how sometimes u laugh at standup comedy bc it’s not actually funny, but you’re at standup so u suppose u should laugh, and maybe the comedian would feel bad if u don’t? This movie felt like that sometimes
