Synopsis

If Nancy doesn't wake up screaming, she won't wake up at all.

Teenagers in a small town are dropping like flies, apparently in the grip of mass hysteria causing their suicides. A cop's daughter, Nancy Thompson, traces the cause to child molester Fred Krueger, who was burned alive by angry parents many years before. Krueger has now come back in the dreams of his killers' children, claiming their lives as his revenge. Nancy and her boyfriend, Glen, must devise a plan to lure the monster out of the realm of nightmares and into the real world...

It was only fitting that I watch this movie after playing Fortnite with the seasonal Freddy Krueger addition… I like that the movie thrusts you into it without much explanation. Cool idea, i like the desperation and ominousness of not knowing what is reality (like Mulholland Drive and Memento-ish). Freddy Krueger is a bit fruity and I wonder if he enjoys tussling around… he is a very ineffective manual killer. The movie is definitely a bit dated but still enjoyable. I wouldn’t recommend if you don’t like when movies make everyone incapable of communication and running just for the plot
