barackobama5.2July 27, 2026Not sure what the point of this movie was The plot is not very interesting and just hides behind the e(x/r)otic appeal of the strip club and sex. The main messaging (not that there are even many layers in the messaging) behind this movie is “strippers are human too” which was maybe compelling in the 1990s with Pretty Woman. None of the characters are interesting. The whole movie is just “aww haha this woman is so loud and sassy and has a funny accent! She puts herself in emotionally, financially, and sexually terrible situations! Let’s find this all entertaining!” There is no plot and there is no depth. It just goes in circles and is so unbelievably boring. And the ending scene is clearly meant to be the emotional climax but Mikey Madison has no tears when she is crying. What a terrible year for movies for have this to have won so many Oscars
